Prior to this my cars steering wheel would shake when ever the car was running and not in motion, like when sitting at a red light for example. Electric power assist failed twice with no warning upon start up, causing the power steering to default to manual control, basically could not be steered. Steering column had to be replaced. Never received any notification regarding the recall that was done on this issue for a 2009 escape. Total repair cost incurred 1,358.86.
