Driving down the street and the wrench light came on all of a sudden. Then my car dies. Put it in park then started it and as i tried to accelerate the car started to jerk then died. I repeated this till i got to the nearest repair shop and after $600 later found out it was the throttle body sensor. Ford won't sell the plastic sensor by itself, you have to buy the whole aluminum unit at $400! Plus labor! I will…

I was driving home and as i coasted to stop at a red light my truck started bouncing. The rpm dropped below 500 and the vehicle shut off. I put it in park and restarted and gave it some gas and it was fine until i made a right turn down a residential street and again killed itself. I had to repeat this till i got home. *tr

My wife owns a 2009 ford escape purchased new from a dealer and there have been so many issues with the vehicle i question if there wasn?t some type of flaw in the manufacturing process or at the very least, some type failure in the quality control process. Within weeks of purchasing this ford escape we had to take the vehicle back to the dealer for an oil leak and transmission problems. After 2 or 3 trips to the…

Vct solenoids and cam sensors are faulty. The vehicle stalls randomly, engine lags and exibits poor fuel mpg. The problem occured just out of warranty and upon research; i have discovered this issue is very vast with 2009-2011 ford escapes, mercury mariners, 2010-2011 ford fusion and mercury milan vehicles equipped with the 3.0l engine and built on or before 3-1-2011. My 2009 ford escape and many others vehicles…

I was on my way to work and was luckily on a frontage road when suddenly my 2009 escape wouldn't accelerate. I pushed on the gas pedal, but nothing happened. Luckily i was able to coast down the hill and turn off onto a side road. The wrench symbol lit up and my car sputtered and shook. I said a prayer, waited a few minutes, started the car again, and was able to drive. I drove it about a mile down side streets to…

I was merging off of an exit ramp. I slowed down so i can enter traffic, and then when i accelerated, the car hesitated/lagged before surging me forward. This problem occurs often and has almost caused an accident. Sometimes it will happen when i'm completely stopped and then accelerate, or going up a hill. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 ford escape. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph the vehicle would not respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The wrench light illuminated indicating a power train or a throttle failure. The contact stopped the vehicle on the shoulder of the road and turned it off. After restarting the vehicle, the contact was able to drive without failure. The manufacturer…

As we were driving down the road the car jerked and when i pressed the gas i wasn't gettin any at all so i pulled over to the side of the road and finally came to a stop. Tried pressing the gas and nothing. Shut the car off for a few minutes started it back up and it was normal again. Just not very happy because we are financing from a use lot and have only had it for 8 months. *tr

This is the 3rd time this problem happened. I'm driving normally, at a constant speed, and all of a sudden, wrench light comes on, rpms do weird things, gas pedal doesn't do anything, putting it in neutral in a drift downspeed does nothing, park does nothing. Putting it in park and shutting the engine, and starting again makes the light go away and run fine again. This is a huge safety concern as i travel with young…

The engine sputters and stalls while driving. It has done this 10 or more times in the last two weeks. The yellow wrench symbol is displayed on the instrument panel. After getting to the side of the road and switching the car off and back on, the car will run fine for a few miles - sometimes for a day or two. After talking with a couple ford dealers, i was told that this is a common problem with the throttle body…
