I was driving down the street and lost power. The throttle wasn't working properly. Took the escape to ford where other similar vehicles have same problem with throttle body. I have been waiting on the part for over a week and ford says there is no recall or warranty for this although it's happening to so many people. I'm having to rent a car this whole time waiting. *tr

Engine lost power and coasted to side of road. Towed to dealer, keyser miller ford, [redacted]., collegeville, pa 19426. They stated the problem was the "throttle body", and it needed to be replaced. They said it was a common problem with the escapes. Parts next to impossible to obtain. *tr

My vehicle is a 2010 ford escape 6 cyc with 4 wd. This was a new vehicle purchased in early 2010 as it had 4.7 miles on it when purchased and i put most of those miles on it during the test drive. When traveling at highway speed recently in heavy traffic the vehicle suddenly lost all ability to accelerate. It was as if there was no gas pedal in the vehicle at all. No shuddering, or chugging after this occurred and…

While driving on highway 24, my vehicle had spontaneously lost power as i was pressing on the gas pedal. As i safety steered my vehicle to a place on the side of the highway, the service light then the check engine light came on. Once stop, i turned the engine off; waited a few minutes they started it back up. The engine was on, the dash indicator lights were still one, but no power was transferring from the engine…

The vehicle lost power while driving at relatively constant speed. The engine hesitated, car did not accelerate when the gas pedal was applied. The engine then stalled. I pulled over, restarted the engine, and the car seem to run normally after this first incident. The vehicle started stalling while approaching a traffic light and continued to stall to where eventually the gas pedal was non-operational. The car was taken to a ford dealership and a mechanic diagnosed that the throttle body was not operating properly and needed to be replaced. Driving along down the driveway and the car went into slow mode. Non-responsive to gas pedal, engine sputtering. Happened to my wife earlier this week on the way to work. She pulled over, turned off the engine and restarted. Drove fine then so she brought it home and switched cars. Engine wrench light comes on but after restart disappears. Hooked up to my obd scanner and it showed p2111 code. *tr

First it started with the engine light coming on. I had the codes read at a local auto parts store and they saw it was an "evap censor" and stated this is usually associated with a gas cap leaking. Well, the escape we have doesn't have a gas cap!!! It's one of those "quick fuel, nascar type systems", where there is just a plug that retracts when you insert the gas nozzle and retracts when you're finished? Secondly,…

I have to pull over, where i am at, whether it be the side of the road, middle of an intersection, or a center turning lane.
