There seems to be an issue with the 2012 ford escape steering that plagued the prior year models, dealer stated it was not covered under warranty and estimate $1-$2k in repairs, this is a extreme concern and should be covered by the manufacturer since they didn't get it right again after the issues with the 2008-2011 models. I've contacted the manufacturer with no reply back.
