    Fuel/Propulsion System

In 2013 the throttle would either stick and not allow you to go, or as your driving it would not go to the idle position. This happens when the weather gets cold. We had the throttle body assembly replaced at the time, now in 2016 the same thing is happening again. We are very frustrated with ford motors and the dealership. This is a costly fix and must be done again for the safety of ourselves and others. Please…

My friend borrowed my 06 ford escape, which had not shown any mechanical issues. Shortly after getting on the interstate hwy, the gas pedal stuck to the floor and rapidly excellerated to 85 mph plus, without warning. It is a 6 lane hwy and was saturday. Putting the vehicle in neutral and using both the brake and the e brake, while trying to maneuver traffic to get to the shoulder, as a tractor trailer rig was…

On several occasions after getting off the highway onto an exit ramp my vehicle has died with no check engine lights, it also shuts down when making a hard turn at slower speeds. I have had issues with the accelerator sticking when it is cold outside (several times having to manually shut off engine and coast to a stop in snow). I have currently started experiencing a #3 misfire and am currently waiting for parts to…

When it gets below 40 degrees or so my gas pedal will stick in a closed position. You have to press very hard on the pedal for it to allow the car to move however there is a large thrust forward/backward due to opening the throttle so quickly. I have nearly hit 2 cars and almost been hit several times because the car will not go. I have spoke. With ford and they state that there is no recalls regarding the issue and…

Upon putting car into gear, the gas pedal would not cause the car to accelerate. Car had no propulsion. Important to note that the gas pedal had seemed to stick before this incident. Ford motor co. Refuses to cover the cost of fixing this problem, even though they have known about this issue for some time. This car was bought for my 17 yr old daughter. She did not happen to be driving at the time of the incident…

Gas pedal sticks whenever temperature falls below freezing. Had issues since car was new in 2006, but this week issue is much worse. Normally you can push hard on the gas pedal and get it to work. This week i have to wait for the car to warm up before i can drive, the gas pedal will not budge. I've read other complaints that this is a faulty throttle body and would like to know what ford plans to do about it. *tr

The gas pedal was stuck in the up position and my husband was unable to accelerate. This was an 3:45 in the morning in about 60 degree weather. In doing some online research, i have found that this is a common problem with the butterfly valve in the throttle system. Luckily there are very few people on the road at that time of the morning. If this had happened in heavy traffic, he could have been hit from behind.

The gas pedal sticks and could not be pushed down unless you slammed on it. This occurred several times, and eventually stuck completely. The ford dealership in lynchburg, va, replaced the throttle body. Now, two years later, the same problem has occurred. *tr

Noticed my garage smelled of gas. Found drips of gasoline under my 2006 ford escape. I found that the fuel line under the second plastic strap from the fuel tank, the line has a small slow leak. It appears the plastic straps wore a hole in the line. *tr

Driving along at various speeds, the gas pedal sticks in the up position. If you need to speed up the pedal wont move. It is locked in the idle position. This almost caused a major accident when i could not speed up to get out of the way of an 18 wheeler. It nearly ran over me. The pedal has stuck at least 15 times since i have owned the vehicle. Dealer says nothing is wrong with this vehicle. I have checked online…

The gas pedal would get stuck when you were driving. Had to have it replaced. It cost four hundred dollars (i think). Was told there were no other issues like this. Its been a couple of years now. Saw recently there are other complaints for this issue (online). Thanks *tr
